This beautiful, unique restaurant is tucked away, but shouldn't remain a local secret anymore! They have amazing food, with a menu that emphasizes seasonal ingredients, and wonderfully rich flavors. The restaurant is inside a huge old victorian house, and has lots of great nooks and crannies to explore. Be sure to have coffee/tea in one of the sitting rooms after dinner!

If you need a dog trainer, you cannot find a better or more caring one than Ruth of BARCC. She gets results -- whether in puppy training, basic obedience and manners training, or behavior modification to address problems such as aggression, and she gets those results using positive reinforcement, dog-friendly methods. In both her classes and private sessions, she works hard to make sure the owner has the tools and understanding necessary to train and work with their dog. My puppy Vesta loves her! .

Whenever I'm looking for a special gift for someone, this is where I go first. Heck, I go to this store whenever I can, just to stroll through their lovely displays and get ideas/items for myself! It's a gorgeous store, well thought out, with high quality and interesting merchandise.

This station brings a much needed range of programming, from NPR, to locally-produced shows. And it's top-notch for jazz.
I don't love it *quite* as much as my beloved KQED in San Francisco, but then again, KXJZ doesn't have a budget like them. So it carved out its own unique niche, and in today's radio market, unique is hard to come by!

This is my favorite brunch place, anywhere, hands down. Their food is fantastic, from the flavorful omelets, to the decadent French toast, to the delectable cinnamon rolls, etc. Their homemade olallie berry jams, syrups, and pies are out of this world! The relaxed setting, friendly staff, lovely patio, and pet-friendly environment just add to their appeal.

This store has a fantastic selection of scrumptious cheeses and many gourmet treats (olives, pesto, pate, breads, desserts, crackers, etc.)The staff is knowledgable and friendly; the prices are competitive, and the products are top quality items you won't find almost anywhere else. If I'm having guests over, or I simply want a treat for myself, Dedrick's is the first place I go shopping!
