Sensei Tibon teaches a variety of fighting arts. GOJU means hard soft style of Karate. We use the hard style of Okinawan Japanese straight line fighting and the Soft style of Chinese Kempo and that which is angular or circular movements. Goju Ryu therefore has the best of both fighting traditions of Okinawan and Chinese. We combine jamming, isolation, and parry combinations into a single fighting form. We also utilize the talents of other arts of self defense for completeness to adapt to any attack on the streets. Commitment is to develop excellence in self-confidence, respect and discipline in all students so they develop into the best they can be and teach the traditional arts the way they were taught in Okinawa and Japan.

This is the best karate school. Not only do they teach karate but also discipline. The students are very disciplined and hard-working. They have students that compete worldwide but also have students that simply want to learn the art of karate.

Mass appeal across all age groups, and skill levels. Sensei Tibon is able to connect with all his students, parents, visitors etc. making it a comfortable and encouraging environment to learn and train. He and his instructors have a great depth of qualified experience. Sensei Chris Hiers is one of the best coaches anyone could ask for. He works with all ages, from pre-school through adult.
He has produced olympic and world-class athletes that have competed internationally. But Sensei Chris is not competitive to the point that the true art of the discipline is lost. He truly enjoys the development of the students. He does not coach simply for the sake of gaining medals.
My family has been greatly impacted by Sensei Chris Hiers and the entire Tibon's Goju Ryu Karate System.
