Took my son on a school field trip, and LOVED the visit. Had not really heard much about it before then. This is a MUST SEE with kids ages 6-13. I learned a lot about our state myself.

It has history of California that does not exist elsewhere. Tour groups of students, especially grades 4 and 5 come every week day and learn about their rights as citzens and important California history.

This museum is the ideal size for a family with children under 16 or for any school grade, 4th through 12th. The exhibits change frequently enough to hold the visitors' interest year after year yet are there long enough to recommend to friends and neighbors. Also, the staff is outstanding!

There's something for everyone--from Hall of Fame, Latino, Women, immigration, dogs & natural disasters. Especially appreciate the Time of Remembrance program with their volunteers and the school children who come through so prepared by their teachers.
