Ridley K-9 Academy is a mobile & inboard professional dog training service located in Placerville, California. We serve the greater El Dorado, Sacramento and Placer county regions. Our Mission is to provide professional training solutions to all breeds. Our duty as trainers is to help bring peace back into the lives of dog owners and their un-trained canine! Our goal is to help keep dogs out of shelters & pounds and from being euthanized. But our ultimate goal is to teach people and their dogs how to communicate with each other and live together in harmony. We train all dogs, any size or breed. But, most of all, our focus is on teaching you how to become a better owner/handler and pack leader. We will show you how to train and work with your dog using the proper training and handling techniques. We give you the knowledge you need to control your dog in a reasonable amount of time.
We, the owners and staff of Creekside Pet Resort, believe that Garrett Ridley is the #1 Trainer in the Sacramneto area. While training, Garrett has the ability to effectively communicate with my dog, and at the same time, is able to explain it to me! This is very rare! Garrett is gentle and quiet, important qualities when working with sensitive breeds (my border collies), but also firm and consistant. I wouldn't have anyone but Garrett train my dogs!

Garrett came over to work with our new, 20 months old, German Sheppard that we had rescued. I was impressed with him immediately. He is a caring, responsible, person who really loves to be with dogs and people. He is full of information about dogs and what works with them and how to change their behavior. Beyond simply a fine trainer, Garrett Ridley is that special compasionate person that my extremely fearful Catahoula, Angel, needed. It took him only a matter of a few hours to open her mind to the idea that a stranger could be her friend. He demonstrated techniques we could actually see working on her while he talked to us. Untill we met Garrett, we had given up on any hope that she could live as a happy dog. In only a few months, Garrett gave us the understanding and the skills we needed to set Angel back on the right path. Ridley is the best.
