Paragary's Bar and Oven, established in 1983, was among the first to introduce Sacramento to a style of cooking based on local, seasonal products. The cooking of Northern Italy and Southern France inspires simple preparations from the wood burning oven and charcoal grill. The full bar and a compact wine list of mostly Northern California varietals complement the frequently changing menu. Paragary's Bar and Oven provides what is perhaps the city's most unique outdoor experience amidst gnarled olive trees, lush plantings, waterfalls, and a massive stone fireplace.

My husband and I went there for a drink on our first date, after dinner and light opera. We really got to know each other in the intimate, private space.

When I call the troops together, we go to Paragary's to eat, drink and be merry. Mac, Liz, Steve, Gary and the whole crew do know how to take care of you. Just keep the same formula and we shall "always" return.

Paragary's food and service is un-surpassed anywhere in the city. The patio dining experience is also the best to be found in Sacramento. Hosts, hostesses, servers and bartenders all know you by name and treat you as family every time you dine with them.
