I'd like to visit the theater, but Mitch Coppin goes and he is concerned with the mass of people visiting. He doesn't want tons of people. I'm unclear whether he prefers a few really fat people or a lot of really skinny ones. I don't know whether I should eat a lot or starve before showing up at the box-office. Please help out.

Doesn't count as indie theater. Shows corporate made films like Enchanted...Movies On A Big Screen is the ONLY true indie theater.

Both of us truly enjoy the selections of movies which the State Theater makes available for the public; they are usually "first class" and thought provoking. The atmosphere is "cool", too. It is one-of-a-kind.

I have seen all the Oscar nominated movies at the Old State in Auburn. If you want to get away from the crowded, over priced, impersonal large corporate movie theaters with booming, jarring, 15-minute previews, and want to just enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and affordable snacks, check out the Old State Theater in Auburn. They know how to pick great movies. I'm there at least once a week! I can talk with the owner about movies I'd like to see next, and she like to hear suggestions.

Teresa Cotes provides the best films and her theatre is the most comfortable, nurturing and enjoying experience in Auburn and the surrounding area. My husband and I are devoted fans. Going to the theatre is more of a celebration of life and culture than to simply arriving to watch a new film. Her staff is very welcoming and helpful when serving the best popcorn in town. Teresa takes the time to get to know her customers and sincerely cares about their well being in the theatre as well as when they return home. My wish would be that all movie goers could have such an enlightening and supportive environment to watch their favorite films.

I moved up from the Bay area and miss the venues that carry foreign and Independent movies. The State Theater brings back a bit of the memories of the 70s. Also, I love the ambiance.

Having the Old State Theater in Auburn is such a treat! The first-run, academy award winning movies the theater shows, the warm and cozy ambiance, the great snacks, and the amazing staff, always make movie going a very special experience. The theater provides a community service as well by offering $1.00 movies for kids. We are so lucky to have an Indie theater right here in our home town! Let's keep it going forever!!

The Old State Theatre has spoiled me for attending movie complexes where the first half hour is all previews with the volume ratcheted up to ear splitting level. Most of these films are aimed at the teen-age male who doesn't think it's a film unless it has a car chase, etc.
