“The best Bar-B-Que in the County!” “Or maybe the State.” “Or maybe the whole South!”
That’s what folks said about the barbecue Lucille Buchanan grew up eating in her Grandma’s lunch shack, a tiny little nothing of a place on a back road in a small town way outside of Greenville. But Lucille didn’t know any different. She hadn’t traveled more than about 30 miles in any direction. It was just Granny’s cooking. And Lucille loved it…So she found herself a place in Long Beach and started cooking Bar-B-Que just like she used to eat at home - with Granny’s permission, of course! Naturally, Lucille added some of her own special touches, like buttermilk biscuits and peach cobbler. And Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que grew and grew and just like they did when she’d eavesdrop on the customers back at the lunch shack, folks started talking....

Lucille’s is simply the best. The variety of quality food and appetizers. The nostalgic decor of the establishment and the prompt courteous service received says it all. Located close to shopping and gaming Lucille’s should be on everyone’s “must try” list. Mark Spears

Hands down the best. I'm not a big meat eater but their tri-tip is magical. I'd say it's even worth the drive to Long Beach - but thankfully there is one in Rocklin :)

I have only been here once, but I can tell you that this place is great! I would not call this "Cheap eats", and the ribs are a little spicy, AND our bill was about $50 for the 3 of us, (1 kid 2 adults) but I would say: If you have the money, eat here! (If you want VERY good and fast service, go around 2:00 for lunch, or 5:00 for dinner.)
So, in summery:
The good: Good service, Good ribs, Good apple butter (and I mean it!), the desserts are great! (And who can't resist one?)
The bad: Very expencive, Will get crouded, ALOT! (but that's because they're SO GOOD! That's it!
Oh yes, my rating: **** out of *****.
Other then that, GO FOR IT!

WOW!! Food is great, the best ribs ever. Lucky I get more than I can eat, so a doggie bag is filled and taken home for the next day to eat the rest of the ribs. I also like tootie pops, I get one or two to take home too.

While I enjoy Lucille's, there is nothing cheap about this place. Entrees are centered around meat (and lots of it) and you pay for every bit. The barbecue is great, especially the brisket and pulled pork. The sides are phenomenal - where else can you get cheese grits around here and the biscuits are huge and fluffy. Service can be a little spotty and the wait more than a little daunting but they do have call-ahead seating now. Best to go expecting to wait a while and enjoy a big glass of sweet tea with mint while you're waiting for your fabulous meal.

This place is great!!!! The best however I would not classify them as cheap eats. There is nothing cheap about their menu. But the food is certainly worth it and I always leave with left overs!

I recently moved here from Texas and this is just like real Southern BBQ - delicious & authentic. The only place I've found in the Sacramento area that actually offers fried okra as a side dish! The menu & atmosphere is very much like the legendary Threadgill's in Austin.

I love the BBQ sauce and there shoe string fries. there ribs are the best . they fall right off the bone. there service is the bomb.

The service is second to none, even compared to very high-end places, with high end prices. Huge portions, lots of choices. Fun and friendly atmosphere.

This is the most tender tri-tip EVER. I had a tri tip sandwich last month and I crave more constantly! Cool atmosphere, team waitresses so you are always taken care of.
