LaProvence is without a doubt the best French restaurant in the Greater Sacramento area! The cuisine, ambiance and service is unsurpassed. Their menu is constantly changing and improving with an infusion of seasonal items on the menu to choose from. The quality is as good or better than restaurants we've been to in the Napa Valley without the long drive or inflated prices.
Everything is perfect! The food is great, service is the best and most of all the location is beautiful. I love it and will keep on going to this French restaurant its the best.
Always a wonderful wait staff...always a delightful seasonal menu. Wine list is VERY friendly and the setting is a bonus. The food never disappoints and the atmosphere is pleasant whether for a romantic dinner or a business luncheon...how do they do it?
Such a great restaurant! It's beautiful, next parks and open space. We have been dining there since they opened in 2004 and they've come a long way! Service used to be slow and the food insconsistant. But we have always had great service and incredible food. We were there last weekend and had a lobster risotto that was the best dish my wife said she has ever had. I enjoy the gnocchi and the rack of lamb. I didn't realize the previous chef had left, I actually have found the food to have more imagination and creativity in the last year. As my wife and I have traveled thru Provence, we've found the flavors of the South of France abundant throughout our meals. We're looking forward to the French Movie night showing La Vie en Rose as our date night and taking our desserts out by the fire-pits!
Last time I had a meal there I was with three other people. We all loved our dishes so much we shared everthing. We passed the plates around until they were clean loving each dish as much as the last. Can't remember the last time that happened!
Sorry-
This place has really gone downhill. Beautiful ambiance - but even though we live within walking distance, we now drive to La Petite Bistro France! Food is inconsistent, service is spotty....They need to bring over Christophe from La Petite to take over the kitchen! That would be a great combination of a beautiful place and excellent food.
Believe it or not, this is a wonderful place to take the family! We love having lunch on the patio and the Family Movie Nights are so much fun! The kids love it and we love having a wonderful menu to choose from during the show!
While it is true that La Provence has a nice ambience, the food is certainly not French. At one point, several years ago, the chef Bernard attempted to bring Provencal ideas to the cuisine at this restaurant. Alas, the owner sacked the wonderful chef and sent him back from whence he came. The dishes now are a mere shadow of what they once were. The staff is now rude and impatient. In the not so distant past, several staff members actually spoke French. The restaurant is as French as French's mustard..au revoir...
La Provence is, without a doubt, the premier restaurant in the Roseville/Rocklin area. Prices are reasonable and it is a very nice way to get away from the hustle and bustle. A+++
I have to agree with my fellow gourmands. La Provence is the best French restaurant I have eaten at so far in my life. May they keep up the good cooking.
I am very fortunate to be within walking distance to this fabulous restaurant. It is a great place to go with friends for happy hour & enjoy Paul's famous lemon drops. Breakfast is very yummy -lunch outside is a special treat & their dinners are always fabulous.
I vote for La Provence because it captures the feel of the French region of Provence, i.e., it is open, comfortable, and warm. One feels like taking a deep breath, relaxing, and enjoying a delicious meal here. I feel like I'm on vacation. I come all the way from Redding to enjoy the French conversation evenings, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and desserts worth every calorie. I also appreciate the friendliness of the service - not snobby like so many other high class restaurants. I can't wait to eat outside, listen to the live music, and try playing petanque.
Wonderful restaurant, Bay Area quality, interesting menu, high quality, good cocktails, and a big plus--- it's not too noisy. Love the outside dining in the spring and the fireplace in the winter.
Great place for taking your time, enjoy the food and the company of friends and a nice slow paced meal. This is not dinner and a movie night, just dinner as it should be.
