Kolobok is a unique European market located in the heart of Carmichael, CA. It is a traditional European bakery, a German bakery, a smokehouse, delli, market, and coffee house. The food is great, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting.
Our breads, cakes, and pastries are one of a kind, infact Kolobok is the only store in the United States that bakes German breads prepared from secret recipes which date back to the early 1700's to a bakery in Germany called Edna. You may visit the website to find images of all breads.

I drove by and wondered how good Kolobok was on a daily basis. One day we decided to go in. Everything looked wonderful....the pastries, the cakes, everything looked to have an abundance of care, flavors, etc.....I spent $20 on cakes and pastry for my family, took it home and have NEVER been so disappointed.
Everything was dry, flavorless, and just plain awful. The store itself, interesting and fairly priced...the baked goods...nasty.

The staff is the best very personable and always ready to assist you.
Alex always greets you with his trademark smile.

I like this place, I can get in and get out. No long lines and they remember you. They give good service with good food. This is a family business and they sell products my family uses. They make me feel close to home when my family is far away. I can think of them and eat the same things my Mother and brother in-law are eating. My wife can buy things she is familiar with and she can cook knowing she can follow her families recipes.

Kolobok is truly the best European Gourmet Market in Northern California. They have no competition!! None of the other stores come even close to being truly an all European market. When I come in I feel like I'm in Europe, it is clean and there is no trash or boxes piled up on floors. You guys have done a great job, oo-la-la!!!
