50's style diner with new owners and new look! The restaurant has been around since 1939 and got its name "Hollywood Cafe" back in the 40's when famous actor Slim Pickens stopped by for a meal and loved the place. When he asked what the name was he found out there really wasn't a name. He mentioned to Ed Wiebe (the owner) that it reminded him of his favorite cafe in Hollywood, and with that information Ed named it the Hollywood Cafe. The once favorite hot spot in Lodi has gone through many changes and several owners and now has embarked on the biggest change in decades. Reflecting back on a more simple and fun time in America when coke was something you drank, gay meant you were happy, a chip meant a piece of wood, and "Making Out" referred on how you did on a test. NOW OPEN with Good Food, Hot Rods, Music, and Fun. A new look into the past!
New customers and old timers are all treated like good friends, and the food is great too.

Classic diner with a great menu and terrific people. A place doesn't need to be trendy, flashy and new - it just has to be a great restaurant, which this is.
