This place is great, unless your of a certain minority, in which case you might be treated to a double standard. Sometimes smiley faces are just that.

In a world of Big-Box retailing, Dave Lynch and his technicians and teachers maintain "personal" service. Absolutely skilled in every phase of guitar repair and customization, G.W. serves the musician very well. I have taken lessons from Joe Lev for more than two-years; he is personally responsible for my developing skill at playing the bass.

My son loved taking lessons here. The staff was always very friendly and the instructions are top notched. He started out taking bass lessons and then progressed to guitar lessons. He loved his instructor Joe and was sad that he had to stop lessons to attend school college. He often goes back when home just to visit and see what is new in the world of music.

Great instructors, I have been taking lesson's from Ken for about two years. My playing has come a long way! Dave is just great! Not only does he do great work on guitars, but the guy can play! Plus everyone at the shop takes a personal interest with all the students. Chris took time to help my 8 year old buy me an assortment of different picks for my b-day present. My son was so stocked to get me something that I liked and he could not stop talking about how the "guy" at the guitar story helped him out and then took his money. He was (my kid) so proud! That does not just happen everywhere. Go check out the shop!

They are a small shop and make you feel like family when you are there. In addition, quality, personal attention to detail set them apart from other music shops in the area.

I've been taking lessons myself there for over 10 years now. They have taught me everything I know about guitar.
Their instructors are great; they are professionals with professional attitudes. They range from young musicians with music degrees from Berkely and CSUS playing jazz-fusion venues all over, to older seasoned musicians that have played for a living (enough to support a family) for 30 years or more with the Sacramento Blues Society, and more.
I myself have even been able to play at a professional level (eg. getting paid), and in all genres of music with the skills and lessons they have imparted upon me.
Not only that, but it's the best place to repair your guitar as well. The owner, Dave Lynch, could strip down and reassemble a guitar faster than a marine can with his rifle.
This place is THE BEST resource for anything guitar related.

My son has learned so much since finding Guitar Workshop. I believe we have been taking lessons for 2 years now. The owner is great, he makes you feel welcome...remembers your name and says "hey".

It's a friendly, laid-back environment, and my teacher positively rocks. Greg is patient and kind but gets results -- I had songs to play starting with my first lesson!
