Jesse is the real deal. He under sold me on a wheel set because they were better for me than the more expensive ones. Do not buy a high end bike without checking there first.
East Sac Bike shop has always treated me fair and offered a wealth of information about bicycles. After reading a comment on Jesse's shop, I am shocked that anyone would post details of a bad experience. There are ALWAYS two sides to every story. Go in and experience their customer service for yourself!
Some other comments did not clarify between fun, road, mtn, or cross bikes. I agree that the owner can be pretentious, but that's Jesse. Take it with a grain of salt. He rides, he knows his stuff. But, as for customer service, he did not provide it for me. He did not help me send my Marzocchi fork back in for repair. I had to do it myself via UPS. Any reputable Marzocchi dealer would do so. When swapping out a part on my fork, the shop destroyed the old one with a Dremel without telling me until I picked up the bike. Then, Jesse showed me how the shop gouged the top of my fork with the Dremel. All I got was a sorry, when other bike shops told me that a Dremel was unnecessary. When I emailed my dissatisfaction, Jesse told me to basically find another bike shop. All that after spending at least $5k at the shop. You decide if you want to do business there.
Don't go there if you want to listen to a lot of negative comments and over pay for a bike... I would rather have a humble owner and honest service than a happy dog greeting me.
They are extremely friendly and make every effort to go above and beyond to help you; they are very knowledgeable; they remember your name when you come back; and you can't help but smile when Jackson the store dog comes to say hello when you walk in!
I received great customer service and bought the perfect bike. The owner took his time getting to know what type of bike I needed, rather than just selling me a bike. I appreciated the time spent and knowledge shared.
Very knowledgeable and helpful. We started going there for service because the unnamed local shop where we purchased our bikes didn't have the time of day to service our bikes. We have since purchased bikes there and he helped us sell the old ones. A great place to stop in and chat about riding. No repair or service request is too small or insignificant
The owner speaks poorly of other bike shops and seems to consider himself an expert on everything. Apparently used to be a salesperson of bike parts. Treats customers poorly unless they're spending a lot of money. Has taken advantage of my husband's lack of knowledge and sold him a set of wheels that was far more than he needed. Too bad. We won't shop there again.
They fit both me and my husband for new bikes and had to take into considerstaion our respective physical limitations. The sevice was fantastic as well as the followup on maintaining our bikes. They are a gret neighborhood resources!
The crew at East Sac BB are knowledgeable and friendly when it comes to bikes and components. The store is always clean and well stocked with items that are needed to ride year round weather its for mountain or road riding. Its always a good place to stop in and say hi while riding in to or out of downtown.
Pretentious owner... lost interest in me after not wanting to spend as much as he wanted me to. Likes to talk bad about everyone else. Not impressed with the inflated prices.
