For a whimsical culinary encounter, Dos Coyotes dishes out sizzling Southwestern fare in a colorful, energetic environment. Bobby Coyote left Los Angeles in May 1990 to bring a new, innovative restaurant concept to life in Davis, California. In January 1991, Dos Coyotes Border Cafe was born, with the opening of the first Davis restaurant at The Marketplace. A second restaurant opened in Sacramento at the Arden Fair regional mall in February 1994, followed by openings in Roseville in March 1997, a second Davis restaurant in December 2000, and an October 2001 opening in Folsom. With a trail of happy tummys everywhere, Dos Coyotes is poised to become the favorite southwestern (not to be confused with fresh-mex) restaurant in the universe.
Food is very fresh and good. One downfall is I have been to two of their resturants, Arden Fair and Roseville on Rocky Ridge, and I have yet to meet a friendly employee. They are short with the words and not very helpful. It it were not for the food, I probably would not return
Kudos to Steve, the manager at the Roseville Dos!! His attention to detail; friendly, and well trained staff; use of superior ingredients; and exceptional food all make for a satisfying dining experience. It's no wonder that my husband and I are regular Saturday customers.
Mexican food is amazingly good, and I already had a good handle on the more traditional cooking. But one day I ordered a salmon burrito there, and I could hardly believe how yummy it was. I was just trying to eat a little more healthfully, but here I was pigging out, or so it seemed, on the most delicious combination of wonderful flavors. And they didn't bat an eye when I asked for extra cilantro and onions.
