We always make a special trip to visit Deaver winery when we come to California from Wisconsin. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. We even joined their wine club because we have never tasted any of their wines that we didn't enjoy !! It is a special day when the FedEx man arrives with our newest box of wine. The calm, serene setting of Deaver is perfect for an afternoon picnic with a delicious bottle of their wine. It's a "must go to " place.
Wow! This winery always has spectacular service. Tim, at the pour bar, is fantastic. He always pairs foods with wines that make you purchase more than you went in for, namely their to-die-for ports! Tastings are always complimentary so buy a bottle to drink that day with your picnic lunch and enjoy it all on their beautiful grounds. Their wine club is excellent. And, as funny as it sounds, I always appreciate that they have clean bathrooms and flushing toilets. When you're out and about tasting "up the hill" you need to make Deaver a priority.
Tank 1 is one of the finest Zins to come out of the Shenandoah Valley (Plymouth). Plus the Deaver winery is one of the best places to sit and have a picnic. Oh and don't forget to cap the day off with a glass of California Port and some fudge. Hmmm heaven
They are very friendly and unpretentious. It is so much fun to visit everyone in the tasting room while tasting the wine and learning about how it was made. We always pack a picnic lunch and purchase some wine and enjoy the lovely picnic area.
Outstanding wine, especially the Zinfandel varieties. This family operated winery supplied the wine for our wedding, and it added so much to this special day.
My family came out from Indiana to visit me in Sacramento and we took a trip to the wineries in Amador. Mary at Deaver Winery really made an effort to make our tasting a complete experience. She was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. She really made our trip memorable.
