This glorious example of Victorian architecture has, while preserving much of its character, been transformed into an immaculate hotel, ideal for private celebrations or corporate retreats. Chanterelle has been voted "Best Hotel Restaurant" by the Northern CA Restaurant Assoc. The Sterling Hotel, a former carriage house of an 1890's Queen Anne Mansion, provides an elegant and historic setting for a extraordinary meal.

I have been the to Chanterelle many times for brunch and have enjoyed the atmosphere and The food is very well prepared (I don't often use excellent but in this instance do) fresh, varied menu and interestingly presented. The Chanterelle is my favorite restaurant to relax and enjoy a meal.

The food was fantastic, this made our vacation. We sat outside and enjoyed a lovely brunch, the service was impeccable and the chef very accommodating. I would highly recommend The Chanterelle as a Romantic little treat, go with you girlfriends or your sweetheart and enjoy feeling like you are away from the crazy day to day stress. We will definitely go next time we are in town.

Very good service from the greeting to our departure, incredibly fresh and tasty food, good variety, good value, a quaint and comfortable atmosphere inside or out, and a good location downtown.
