Our mission at Cerezo's Martial Arts, is to empower our students to become successful. We will do this by teaching respect for one another, set and work towards attainable goals and developing our ability to defend oneself.
At Cerezo's Martial Arts our goal is to teach the complete person; body, mind and spirit. Training the body through physical work with practical self- defense techniques. The mind is trained by working through conflict non- violently first. When adequate force is necessary we build reaction time to become instantaneous. The spirit is trained by working on inner peace through meditative thought and creating a strong will to succeed.
What a wonderful place. I came in to check out Cerezo's and all who were there were very nice and cordial. even the students who didn't know me bowed and said hi or "welcome to our dojo." The key to great martial arts training is training the heart and mind when NOT to use the fighting techniques taught. Sensei Abe stresses respect for others as well as self, and that leads to restraint...till it is absolutely necessary to defend oneself, at which point the response is definite. A great place for kids and adults to learn and grow.
Sensei Abe and Miss Carrie make Cerezo's such a special place for my 7 year old daughter to go after school. We enrolled her in the after school program so that she could learn the dicipline and concentration that martial arts provides. She has gained so much more than that. She has learned how to work towards her goals, and how to persevere. They have provided such a wonderful support system for her in her school work as well as her martial arts training. Cerezo's IS the best martial arts school in Sacramento!
I enrolled my children in Cerezo's martial arts after School program because I wanted them to have something productive to do after School. Both my kids and I have been very happy with it. Not only are they learning these special skills which will benefit them for the rest of their life but I see so much personal growth and discipline. Cerezo's provides a very disciplined environment in a nurturing way and it definately makes an impact on the kids. Especially the younger ones. I would definately reccommend the program. It's also very convenient, they pick up the kids from School which is so rare these days for a good program.
My three children have been students of Cerezo's Martial Arts for over 7 years, they are 21, 17, and 13 years old. Now for the last 1 1/2 years I have become a student as well! Having Miss Carrie as our curator makes everything run smoothly. Sensei Abe's positive attitude, values, integrity, and love for his art and his students helps you learn a great deal more than just martial arts. Strength of character, dealing with life in a positive manner, goal setting, determination, and a strong spirit are a part of our martial art instructions. The family atmosphere is prevalent in everything we do. There are activities such as Karate Camp every summer, Holiday potlucks, Team Cerezo, monthly testing, Black Belt Tea's, teambuilding activities and more. Family involvement is strongly supported. Studying martial arts at Cerezo's Martial Arts, helps you to become stronger in body mind and soul.
I have been a karate student for 8 months and my experience with Cerezos Martial Arts has been spectacular Sensei Abe approch to the martial arts is great he makes a possitive enviornment for the student to learn and I knoe that by the time I leave I will have had a great work out and have a possitive atttitude. Cerezos Martial Arts even has an after school program if students, and parents need to take advanage of it. I would reccomend Cerezo's Martial Arts to ANYONE. All in all i give Cerezo's Martial Arts A 12 out of 10.
I have been a student of Abe Sensei's for many years now and he IS my mentor, in the martial arts and life both...tho I now live far, far away and he has given me permission to steer my training in many directions to augment my core style as taught by him, he is still my "go to" man...the one I count on to answer my questions and continue to guide my training...
