In 1965 our family opened the Italian Cottage Restaurant in Chico, CA. The original store, along with another in Chico and one in Red Bluff, are still owned and operated by Judy Katz, her son Brian and his wife Robyn Katz. The Italian Cottage is proud to have been voted “Best Italian Restaurant” as well as “Best Breakfast” in Chico. In 1982 we expanded the family business to Davis, CA and opened Caffe Italia, owned & operated by Kevin & Shar Katz. Here, we have been serving Yolo County for twenty-two years, and have been voted “Best Breakfast in Yolo County” for 10 years running, and “Best Italian Restaurant”. We are cooking up daily our own original recipes, as well as creating new ones with the help of our great staff and customer requests. We offer something special for breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day!
We are family owned, and love to host families. As our family grows and we continue our traditions, from Italian Cottages and Caffee Italia, on to Dancing Tomato Caffe and the next generation, we wish for all…”Good Times for a Long Time”.
I had my CSUS grad party/family dinner there in Winter 2004. The staff was excellent! We ate in the covered patio area and even in Winter, it was warm and cozy. Excellent food and drinks...it was a great time!
