Located in historic Winters, California we are a destination gallery and a working studio!
Showcasing a versatile and sophisticated collection of contemporary art and craft created by over 100 artists. Briggs & Co features award winning painters with an emphasis on plein air paintings and local landscapes in addition to a wide variety of original art. You will find sculpture, beautiful handmade jewelry, ceramics, glassware, fiber art, gifts, custom furniture, and much, much more! The sculpture garden is a creative, comfortable space brimming with ideas for exterior living. One of a kind metal, concrete, and wood furniture and sculpture, much of it created by owners Michael and Shaunie Briggs, who utilize recycled scrap iron and wood in many of their creations.
We host monthly events including art and culinary demonstrations, live music, and art workshops. Monthly exhibits featuring individual and group artists open on the first Saturday of every month to coincide with the Winters Walk art event.
I've been to nearly every art gallery in the Sacramento metropolitan area. It's not unusual to find the Davis mayor and city council members here on the monthly art walk. Briggs & Co. sure knows how to throw a party. Great art, great music, great food, great friends -this place has an unpretentiousness and genuine warmth that nobody else can match. They do have first-rate art too, both their own (see the plasma-cut sphere) and others. You won't go wrong by bringing someone you wish to impress to this place.

Have only been to Briggs & Co. a couple of times and can't wait to go back. Things in the gallery had changed so much, every visit is a whole new adventure, with so much to see that you just want to stay. The owners, on sight artist and staff are the best. On my most recent trip the owners designed and created two custom metal pieces for me that will hang in my house and always remind me of the wonderful little town of Winters, CA and the amazing people who live there!
This is an extraordinary gallery. The quality of the art work and the design outshine all galleries in the area. We travel from Phoenix several times and year and end up going to Briggs & Co to buy art - the others don't matter!

This is a beautiful shopping experience. You will enjoy spending time going through the gallery and the gardens where you will see the most diverse collection of artists in any gallery. If you make it for the 1st Saturday showing, you will encounter special treats of music and meeting many of the artists in person, and may get to taste the best carrot cake you have ever had. To much fun to explain.
The Briggs & Co. gallery is a rare find indeed. Aside from the eclectic mix of artistic expression via paintings, jewelry, sculpture and more; the atmosphere is a pure reflection of the owners love for what they do. Mike and Shawnee have managed to blend their zest for life and the very basic elements the surround us in an environment that lacks the pretense often associated with most art galleries. One cannot help but feel at home handling a piece of pottery or examining welded iron pictographs and a wide variety of art mediums with the audio styling’s of local musicians wafting through the gallery as home cooked food and condiments are sampled. This gallery is more than an exhibit it is a gathering place where those that visit are welcomed, nourished and inspired by what they see and who they interact with. Anyone who visits Winters would do well to drop in and see for themselves.
This gallery is in a class of it's own! I find the most unique gifts every time I visit and I love that they are locally made. The owners are always so friendly! I felt right at home when I attended the Indian cooking demo back in Sept '07. If you're not from the area, it is worth a trip to experience the small town charm of Winters, CA. Thumbs up to the Briggs!!!
can't pass thru adorable Winters without a stop at Briggs Art, they get my vote! and may i suggest the Buckhorn for a steak while you are in town. the Briggs group did backbends to help us with gifts and wrapped em too.

We've been to almost half of these galleries and the one that stands out in our mind is a fundraising event we attended at Briggs CO. Art was wonderful and so was the carrot cake from scratch made by one of the artists, if we remember correctly, the owner. Highly recommended.

Briggs & Co. has the rare art piece you won't find anyplace else. The gallery has such a great atmosphere, you feel like hanging out there all day. I hope you are lucky enough to be treated to one of their delicious homemade nibbles. The knowledable cute young lady, Melissa, at the desk, is a peach.
Briggs & Co. is an amazingly friendly and fun gallery where the owners and staff are so passionate about what they do, you can't help but smile! Aside from all the amazing art work that you get to look at, they offer hands-on workshops where you get to work directly with the artists.
