This series of posts feature matchups for Round 2 of voting on the KCRA 3 A-List Restaurant Bracket Challenge.
The first matchup pits two Midtown restaurants in a rematch of the 2012 European Soccer Championship. While Spain may have thumped Italy in soccer, this Midtown battle-royale promises to be much closer.
In one corner is Biba Restaurant, a 4-time A-List winner for Best Italian. For years voters have raved about the fresh pasta with special accolades reserved for the lasanga. According to voter Arlen F-J "Biba makes as it was intended--and it's not the over-cheesey American version." Biba herself has drawn praise for her attention to detail and graciousness as a host. Voter Reese D. says "every time [she has] dined their, Biba stops by the table to say hello." With food and service like that, it's no surprise that Biba Restaurant is in the Round of 8.
In the other corner sits Tapa the World. This popular J Street restaurant has been impressing guests with it's authentic Spanish tapas and romantic setting since 1994. Diners and entertainment seekers flock to the restaurant for nightly live guitar performances. Voter JJS8190M recommends the paella and suggests getting "there early to order the paella and stay late for the music," while voter Charlotte M. emphatically believes that "nothing beats their steamed mussels."
Hungry? We are too. Go vote. Remember, this round ends July 18th, so don't wait to cast your vote.
