Andrae's Bakery and Cheese Shop is located in the smallest incorporated city in California, Amador City. An untouched, small town along Historic Highway 49 that will bring you back to the gold rush era. Our specialty is handcrafted, hearth baked bread made the traditional way without mixes or preservatives. Along with our bread, we feature freshly baked pastries, tarts, cookies, and the popular Basque cake. If you are hungry for lunch, we make sandwiches, quiches, and pizzas. All our products are made from scratch and baked fresh daily. We only use natural products that have no additives; when available, we use locally made or grown products.
I had bread from this bakery almost eight years ago for the first time, at a conference in the foothills and immediately set off to find someone to tell me where the bread came from. Now I cannot pass through Amador City without stopping for a sandwich and bread loaves, no matter where I am going. My favorite might be the cranberry walnut bread, but it is all soooo good! I haven't found a bakery that could top Andrae's anywhere.
Plz try there roasted garlic french bread...it is
out of this world...there other breads are equally
good.
