A great little wine bar featuring wines from Amador County. It is located downtown in historic Amador City. Wines featured are mostly smaller wineries, wineries that don't have a tasting room and may be slightly off the wine tasting beaten path. Chocolates from Chocoholic.com are also available for tasting.
Some of the best wines are found off the beaten path. This place has a wonderful array of some I'd never heard of. The proprietor was well versed and she could tell I was more interested in whites than reds. And this is one of those few places that realize the extraordinary taste of pairing wine with chocolate - something the French have done for years. Nice atmosphere too!! I really felt like I was in a wine cellar! Ask to taste her award winning Syrgreymohr (sp?) - She really knows her chocolate, too - a winning combination and a wonderful place to taste away!

If I'd blinked I would have missed it! Came down Rt 49 and instead of taking the bypass decided to explore Amador City. It was less than a mile from the intersection. As I came into town, noticed the Miner's Pick Antiques and the Amador County Wine Cellar. As a previous commenter above noted, you'll find this place almost by accident. Got
to taste a nice selection of wines that I never heard of in Reno. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch. And oh yes... chocolates! Now there's a combination that I'm happy to leave the beaten path for.
I found it by accident and what a great surprise! Great wine, great conversation with the wine pourer and I got to taste 6 different Amador Wines - I need to visit Amador wineries more often!
